Mulligan, who beat Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley to the coveted role of Daisy Buchanan, wife of Tom and love interest of the titular Gatsby, looks to have channelled the 1920s to perfection in the stills.
In one of the images, Daisy is adorned in diamonds and pearls. The sparkle, you’ll recall, comes courtesy of Tiffany , which mined its archives to supply era-appropriate fine jewellery for the film. Daisy leans on a lavender stole as narrator Nick Carraway, Gatsby and Buchanan watch a performance around her.
The second still portrays a more fraught moment, as Gatsby (played by Leonardo DiCaprio, with perfect hair, by the way) and a headscarf-wearing Daisy embrace.
The glitz, the ‘20s gowns, the girls, the Gatsby: care to hurry up that filming so we can see this one already, Baz?
