Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is well known for her unswerving loyalty to a few core brands, the clothes of which she returns to time and time again, despite becoming the world’s most photographed woman the moment she married Prince William.
One such slightly under-the-radar label, is the bespoke coat-maker, Katherine Hooker. Kate has favoured the made-to-measure outerwear from the designer since 2005, according to royal watchers. Speaking about dressing the Duchess to NYMag in January, Katherine said; ‘she does have quite a strength in her style. Although it’s very conservative, there is something that sets her apart from just your average nice, conservative, well-brought-up girl.’
America’s insatiable appetite for all things Middleton shows no sign of abating and now Katherine is heading to the USA to offer trunk shows in New York, which has tipped American fashion fans into a feeding frenzy, with the New York Post and blog Refinery 29 both flagging up the shows – which are relatively small affairs for private clients.
Looks like Ms Hooker might have to take on a few more seamstresses to help with demand.
