If it seems like every other day there's a new celebrity beauty line launching—you're absolutely right. We're in the thick of a celebrity cosmetics and skincare bubble, not unlike the celebrity fragrance bubble of the mid-to-late aughts (and even that is coming back; blame KKW).
In addition to pretty much all the Kardashians, Miranda Kerr, and Rihanna—Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Lindsay Lohan, Serena Williams, and Victoria Beckham have all recently announced that they're tinkering in the lab to release products under their own private labels. But that's not to say we'd turn down the opportunity to buy a perfume by Cardi B or a Beyoncé-branded lipstick.
Ahead, we've imagined up the dream celebrity beauty lines that don't exist, but we wish did.
1. Perfume
Way back in 2009, Kanye West signed a deal with Parlux alongside Rihanna and Jay-Z to release a fragrance. He never did—and his wife Kim Kardashian West confirmed to BAZAAR.com last year that nothing is currently in the works. Cardi B has yet to sign a fragrance or beauty deal of any kind, but we can imagine it won't be long until the news comes out (perhaps a perfume partnership with Fashionnova?).
2. Make-up Moguls
Beyoncé and Selena Gomez both have perfumes under their names, while the first has a long-standing L'Oréal Paris contract and the latter has a Pantene contract. Yet neither have branched into the colour cosmetics world, but we think it's just a matter of time.
3. Eyebrow Products
Cara Delevingne has worked with Rimmel London, Burberry, and YSL beauty—but we're shocked that she hasn't capitalised on her launching fill brows by releasing a product or two. If you prefer a sharper, more groomed look—nobody does it better than actress Megan Fox.
3. Party-Ready Make-up
Both Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga have stepped their foot into the world of beauty, but neither have made a splash under their own label in years (remember Fame by Lady Gaga perfume?). We'd love to see a bold, colourful, glitter, and rock 'n' roll-inspired makeup line from either star.
4. Shine-boosting Hair Mask
If we could trade hair with two celebrities on the planet, it would be Blake Lively and Priyanka Chopra. The first has a beauty deal with L'Oréal Paris and the latter works with Pantene, but we'd buy any name-branded mask from them if it promised us the same ultra-shiny hair.
5. Supermodel Make-up
Bella Hadid is the face of Dior Make-up, and Kendall Jenner works with Estée Lauder. Unlike their respective sisters Gigi and Kylie, neither have launched their own makeup...and we're getting antsy.
6. Golden Self-Tanner
It doesn't bode well for the celebrity self-tanner market that the last launch we can think of was either the cast of Jersey Shore or the now-defunct Kardashian-branded tanner (which was actually quite good). The market is ripe for some newness, and we'd trust Cameron Diaz and Emily Ratajkowski to do it well.
7. Skin-perfecting Treatments
In all her years as a supermodel, Naomi Campbell has never fronted a beauty campaign. “People say, ‘Oh, you’ve got beautiful skin’, and yet I’ve never done one,\" she told Evening Standard last year. To that we say: launch your own. Angelina Jolie works with Guerlain perfumes, and signed to be the face of Shiseido in 2007—but only in Japan.
8. Anti-Aging Serums and Creams
We'll try just about any serum or cream that promises to turn back the clock and give us Botox-in-a-bottle results. But so often there isn't a face behind the products that prove just how well it can work. Jane Fonda works with L'Oréal Paris, but Meryl Streep has never fronted a beauty campaign in any capacity.
9. Limited Edition Lipstick
Taylor Swift has been singing about her penchant for red lipstick since her album red. Though she has a perfume line and worked with Covergirl for a while, the singer has never launched her own line of red lipsticks—which seems like a real missed opportunity. Fellow former Covergirl Zendaya has also never branched into colour cosmetics of her own, even though she's a bonafide make-up artist in her own right.
10. No-Make-up Make-up Products
Let's get one thing clear: both Emma Watson and Alicia Keys wear make-up—just very little of it. Alicia Keys made waves for embracing a nearly no-make-up look, though her glam team does still prep her skin and use concealer when necessary. Watson prefers to let her natural freckles and skin texture show on the red carpet, using all-natural and organic make-up to lightly define her eyes.
11. Texturising Hair Stylers
Everyone needs a good hair style that promises chic bedhead texture and grit. If we're being honest, we'd buy any hair product Sienna Miller told us to buy—but Jennifer Lawrence's ability to go from ringlets to sleek hair never ceases to amaze us.
