The American model turned actress first stepped on to our screens in Spider-Man: Homecoming and we've been in love with Laura Harrier ever since.

She gained international stardom portraying civil rights activist Patrice Dumas in the black comedy BlacKkKlansman and, most recently, has been keeping us sane during lockdown in Ryan Murphy's glamorous Netflix miniseries, Hollywood.

But, the US actress isn't just making waves on screen, Harrier is also a big supporter of diversity within the film industry, using her Instagram page to call out injustices and leading the way for celebrity signatures on the Time's Up movement.

Added to that, she's drop dead gorgeous.

ELLE sat down with the American beauty to discuss all things hair, make-up and skincare, including how she gets her skin that good and why pasta and wine are key to happiness (our kind of girl)...

I hit the sack at...

...Around 11pm. It varies as my schedule is all over the place - and most of the time I'm really jetlagged.

I wake up at...

...8am. I love mornings but it's always a struggle to wake up.

The first thing that passes my lips is...

...Coffee. I can't function without it.

The last thing that passes my lips is...

...Really boring: water!

My make-up routine...

...Takes me three minutes. I use Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer, Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Highlighter, Glossier Boy Brow and Lash Slick.

I feel happiest when...

...I see friends, eat pasta and drink wine. Being with people I love is so important to me.

When I look in the mirror, I see...

...My big eyes.

My exercise routine...

...Varies. I have phases of training loads, then I lose interest.

My worst beauty habit is...

...Being lazy with my hair. I need to get better at deep conditioning it and wrapping it to sleep but it takes too long when I'm tired.

The last beauty item I bought myself was...

...A NuFACE Facial Toning Device, which uses micro-currents to improve the look of your skin.

My mood is...

...Happy and excited.

My greatest beauty discovery...

...Using face masks on planes. The Sisley Black Rose Mask does wonders and doesn't look like you have anything on.

My fridge is always filled with...

...Bio-K Plus probiotic yogurt shots - I take them first thing in the morning for digestion.

My body is...

...My own. I try to not be critical about myself.

I deal with stress by...

...Turning off my phone and going outside. I get overwhelmed if I I'm always around people.

My last beauty treatment?

A massage/exfoliation at a Korean spa in LA. Your skin comes off like a snake - it's disgusting! But you're left so smooth.

Tell us a beauty secret...

...Don't touch your face. If I do, I instantly get a spot.

My biggest beauty indulgence is...

...Facials. I go to Sharni Darden in LA. They're expensive but make a big difference.

The best beauty advice I've ever received was...

...How to contour. It's vital to blend properly so you don't get stripes. It makes such a difference to my face.

I look after myself...

...By taking off my make-up every night. I use Bioderma Sensibio H2O, then wash my face - it's so important to cleanse properly.
