When she's not busy serving up some of pop culture's most memorable TV moments as Cassie Howard on Euphoria, the chameleonic 25-year-old actor - who's also making her Marvel debut in Madame Web next year - is constantly surprising us with an array of unexpected fashion moments. Whether channelling sci-fi futurism in a silver Laquan Smith breastplate and matching eyeliner, or going full on old Hollywood in Oscar de la Renta and soft waves, Sweeney is unafraid to reinvent herself on the red carpet - and we're here for it.

It was only a matter of time before Sweeney's on screen talent, penchant for beauty and undeniable 'cool girl' status caught the eye of a storied fragrance house. As the face of Giorgio Armani's new 'My Way Parfum', she talks to ELLE UK about the scents that bring her joy, her maximalist fragrance personality and the one skincare product that's non-negotiable...

How has your approach to beauty changed since being on Euphoria?

'Beauty has always meant to me the confidence that comes from within. Euphoria has really taught me that beauty can mean, and do, a magnitude of things. There is no box that you need to limit yourself by being in. It's inspired me to try new things and ideas and try being different people.'

What's your all-time favourite Cassie beauty look?

'Cassie's had so many really fun looks, but one of my favourites was when everyone thought she was auditioning for Oklahoma. We took a lot of inspiration from Brigitte Bardot and I loved that we had little individual falsies on my bottom lashes. I loved how beautiful the make-up looked.'

If you could raid the beauty stash of one of your Euphoria cast members, who would it be?

'I think Alexa (Demie) would have a bomb make-up bag.'

What do you love about getting ready for a big red carpet beauty moment?

'I love the collaboration that goes on behind the scenes, whether it's with the designer or my stylists, make-up artists and hairstylists, we all work together to create a look. I love doing different drastic looks. It's like building characters because we're playing dress up for fun. We usually do a moodboard and we craft all these ideas together of what I want to be and who I want to look like on a red carpet. I try to find confidence in everything I wear.'

How would you describe your perfume vibe?

'I am a maximalist. It truly is just like an armour. The moment I put on 'My Way', I just feel confident and fearless in everything that I do. I'll spritz my wrist, my neck, my hair, my ankles, my underarms...I like to make sure that I'm surrounded by what I love and I hope I embrace people with the scent that I love.'

What does happiness smell like to you?

'It smells like a good home cooked meal, or a campfire with my family and friends. It smells like a good snuggle with my dog, Tank.'

Tell us the beauty advice you've ever received...

'My make-up artist Melissa Hernandez is very adamant that I always wash my face. No matter how tired you are or where you are, always wash your face.'

What's the best skincare lesson you've learnt?

'Always put sunscreen on. I used to have a love/hate relationship with sunscreen. I didn't like how it feels on my body and my face - I would break out from it. But everyone around me - including my mum and my make-up artist - kept telling me to use it so I finally found one that works for me. It's the one from EltaMD.'

You do MMA and trained for Madame Web - how have these affected your body?

'I've been doing MMA since I was 12 so I don't really see my body change because I've always just been really athletic. (Working out) helps me to have a better understanding of my health. When I go on a run, it's really good to clear my mind and just take time to focus on the health of my body and to be strong. Being able to embrace the more athletic side of myself (in Madame Web) was a lot of fun because I got to use a lot of tools and skills that I already had.'
