Last week I fell in love with the Chanel couture make-up look created by Peter Philips, creative director of Chanel Makeup. We're having such a changeable summer that this look alone is making me long for winter (bizarre, I know).

The make-up team layered on plenty of Chanel's new sparkling black D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirifique, £22.50 available 19 August, around the eyes, extending the shadow to the inner corner. Then they lined the lower rims with Chanel's Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebene (a dark grey), £18.

For the lips Philips selected a perfect peachy lipstick, it was (despite the heavy shadow and eye-catching lace) the first thing I spotted about the look. Annoyingly, it is only going to be sold in Asia (La Furtive, available from August). Let's hope Chanel brings the shade to the UK, it seems a bit excessive to travel long-haul for a lippie. Try Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour in Mythic, £24, as an alternative.

Finally, the nails were painted in a shade called Blue Satin, £17.50. Luckily this product is available in the UK and you can get it at Boots.com, which I would do now before it's a sell-out; you'll appreciate your strategic, forward-thinking come November, trust me.
