82% of people surveyed snack more than they claim to, according to a study by the Almond Board of California at the International Congress of Obesity (ICO). Apparently this food-related phenomena is called 'Snack Amnesia'.

Are you a sufferer? If you can't remember all the food you have eaten in the day then it's likely.

I have it, although mine is more selective – ‘yes I had an apple, erm biscuit, what biscuit?’ I think Snack Amnesia is a nice way to stay blissfully unaware. But, if you think your snack attacks are getting out of control the experts recommend almonds as one of the best snack foods (sugar and yoghurt covered don't count). They fill you up, are packed with nutrients and help with weight loss as long as your meals are just as healthy.

They may not be the most appetising, but if you tend to forget your snack foods anyway, what does it matter?
