Yesterday was my first day at Paris fashion week and so far it seems it's all about the eyes. At Ann Demeulemeester eyes were shaded in graphic lines of brown and dark black which sculpted sockets and accentuated brow bones - a stark contrast to paled, porcelain skin.

The urban warrior theme continued at Jean Paul Gaultier where legendary make-up artist Stephane Marais painted slashes of black liner across lids for a fierce, modern look brilliantly befitting the eclectic, gutsy muse of the designer - 'it's a bit rock and roll, very individual and a little bit rough around the edges'.
