While Georgia was over at Hakaan, I was at the other 'hot ticket' of the day David Koma. The designer has in recent months dressed Beyonce, Cheryl Cole (yes, dress on the X Factor) and Lady Gaga, prompting his nickname 'King Koma'.
The clothes were body-con and structural, so to counter balance this, the make-up and hair was effortless with an edge. Inspired by 'The Beautiful and the Damned' Benefit's celebrity make-up artist Rachel Wood said the models 'almost look like they have drowned'.
The hair was two textured - wet at the roots and dry at the ends. Created by the Toni & Guy team, the wet texture was a mix of Label M serum and gel which was gradiated through from root to mid lengths. The make-up also mixed up textures.
'I use make-up where it isn't normally used. You know, like when you go on holiday and realise you have forgotten something. You have to get inventive.' said Rachel.
The Benefit team used Benetint to build up a red hue on the eyes, for a red rimmed effect (well, they're meant to have been drowning) but the look was actually very pretty. So much so, I might have to give it a try.
The skin was kept neutral with depth created through the use of differently textured products. Cheeks were contoured with varying shades of foundation, buffed into the skin with a buffing brush (try this, it will give you a perfect, almost hyper-real, complexion). To push the contouring to the limit, a lighter shade of concealer was applied to the cheekbones . Highlighting powder dusted across the eye and clear gloss layered over the concealer balanced out the matte, buffed skin.
