ELLE's Verdict: Kate's Hair and Make-up

Catherine (as she is now called) has worn her hair half-up and half-down with the ends curled - it's a similar look to the one she wore for the last official engagement, meaning it was a run-through for the big day after all! Today, without the blowing winds the style looks neater and more refined; sweeping down her back it compliments the lace neckline of her dress beautifully.

The official statement from Richard Ward's people says 'Catherine’s bridal look is called the ‘Demi-Chignon’ – a style which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish. The focus of the style was Catherine’s unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the finished look'.

Everyone speculated about the tiara. Would she, wouldn't she? She did and it was her “borrowed”, the Queen's 'Halo' tiara made by Cartier in 1936, purchased by The Duke of York (later King George VI) for his Duchess. We've had no make-up artist reveal which means Kate did her own. She kept the look natural and as expected chose a smoky eye, nude lip and perfect complexion complete with rosy cheeks (maybe, dare we say it, a little too much blush). She softened the smoky eye and brightened the look with a line of off-white in the eyes.
