British Hairdressing Awards 2010 – The Winners

The industry’s version of the Oscars brought drama, theatrics and lots of hairspray. Jonathan Ross was host for the night, while X Factor runner-up Olly Murs sang and 1750 people were seated for dinner, the largest number in London apparently.

From Afro to Avant Garde, Cutting to Colour every area of British hairdressing was judged and awarded. Other winners included Christel Lundqvist, of HOB Salons in Camden, who took home the statuette for Schwarzkopf Professional British Colour Technician of the Year, while Dan Spiller, of Marc Antoni in Fleet, was crowned Newcomer of the Year, proving you don’t need to be based in the capital to catch the eye of the judges.

“British hairdressing is renowned throughout the world for its creativity and innovation, and with the British Hairdressing Awards we are recognising, rewarding and celebrating the best of British,” said Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr.
