Gwyneth reveals "arduous" diet regime

Super-toned and ticking off experimental trends, a new Gwyneth had emerged.

Two years on and the public's fascination with her body shows no sign of waning. And she has finally spilt the beans on how hard it was to achieve.

Writing on her Goop website, she said; "I have just traversed the globe for Iron Man 2, getting asked the same question repeatedly: how did I get in shape for the movie?. Well, I am not going to lie, the process was an arduous one".

She added: "To really get in line, I followed (my trainer) Tracy Anderson's strict diet for 5 days to lose my extra winter weight. Now, I am not a good dieter and I cannot ever do it for long, only when there is a goal in sight, which there was in this case.

"This regime got me into the shape of my life and I continue to return to it when I have a specific event so that I can do ridiculous things like be a 37-year-old mother-of-two and wear shorts."

So what is it miracle diet? Unfortunately, it is as arduous as Gywneth warns. "This diet ensures you lose between 3 and 5 pounds a week,” says Anderson. The diet bans processed food, dairy and all spices (“They’re bloating and upset your digestive system, which causes you to store fat”), oil and sauces (“They’re just added calories”), discourages drinking alcohol or caffeine (sip 1.5 to 3 liters of water daily instead) and prescribes one serving of whole-grain carbs a day. Once you’re at your target weight, adopt a healthy but less restrictive diet.
