From fishtail plaits to statement lips, the A-list stars made big beauty statements on the red carpet at the ELLE Style Awards last night.

Undone updos were by far the most popular hairstyle of the night. Claire Danes, Ashley Olsen, Alexa Chung, Laura Bailey and Olivia Palermo all dressed down their party outfits with this super simple hairstyle.

Statement lips, a big trend for A/W 10, were spotted last night on Paloma Faith, Leona Lewis, Jameela Jamil and Erin OConnor.

We also have to applaud Naomi Campbell and Claire Danes for their great no tan tan (Claire) and perfectly illuminated skin (Naomi), even though its the depths of winter.

Kristen Stewart, the perfect rock chick and the star that got the most people excited, has got that effortless vibe down to a tee nothing seems to faze her! We loved her super smoky eye.

At the other end of the beauty spectrum, Olivia, as ever, had that glossy finish you can only achieve if youre a born-and-bred New Yorker (oh, and ideally a socialite too). Chic red manicure, check; glossy hair, check; dermatologist perfected skin, check.
