Emma Watson’s hair diaries

At the 2011 ELLE Style Awards Emma Watson told us she was growing her hair (see film below). And yesterday we spied the Harry Potter star out and about in Los Angeles and Boston sporting a new bob (scroll through the pictures to see her new bob).

We all know the story Watson was contractually obliged to keep her hair long for the Harry Potter films, so as soon as shooting finished she had her tresses cropped at the Cutler Salon in New York saying on her Facebook 'Yes, I cut my hair off a few days ago! I love it - feels incredible.'

At the 2011 ELLE Style Awards she told us, 'Im kind of looking forward to getting to a cute little bob stage. I am trying to grow it but it's slow, it's taking a while obviously. If I want to keep acting it's more flexible for me to have it longer for different roles, it's quite a specific cut.'

And as we all know well, growing hair is like watching paint dry, but now it seems Watson has got past that awkward stage between crop and bob.

However, her short hair doesnt seem to be holding her back in terms of film roles as she had worried it would last year. Currently Watson is filming The Bling Ring in which she sports long, brown hair extensions. The heist film is based on a true story about a group of teenagers who commit a ring of celebrity burglaries. Known as the Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch, they were caught raiding the houses of such stars as Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan.

Its rumoured the actress will also star as the beauty in a remake of Beauty and the Beast. And if you remember Belle in the Disney version, she had flowing brunette hair. The remake will be directed by Guillermo del Toros who bought us Pans Labyrinth and Hellboy, which means its likely to be much darker than the Disney animation from 1991.
