To the untrained eye, it might seem like, in 2024, women left right and centre are being totally epic (we mean you Raye, Ayo Edebiri and so forth) and generally winning at life. So, you'd be forgiven for finding yourself thinking, 'Do we even need International Women's Day? Aren't we already dismantling the patriarchy one day at a time?' But, unfortunately, the stats are still telling an entirely different story.

In 2023, globally, 1 in 4 adolescent girls aged 15-19 are neither in education, training nor employment compared to less than 1 in 10 boys of the same age. Additionally, period poverty still affects women and girls around the world and in the UK.

These statements may sound dramatic, but the sad truth is that these are facts, not just attention-grabbing headlines. Which is why IWD is more important than ever. Showing the power of the beauty industry, your go-to brands are stepping up to support the cause and affect real change.
