Ever the rebel, designer Raf Simons sent models storming down the Calvin Klein SS19 runway sporting what your mother always advised against if you want to avoid a nasty head cold - yup, we're talking about half-wet hair.

Mimicking the aquatic-themed collection inspired by the classic America film Jaws, models' hair was dry and fluffy on top with sodden, dripping tendrils at the end.

'At the beach there’s this incredible idea of beauty, but also a tension between land and ocean, a feeling of two worlds meeting, maybe colliding,' Simons wrote in the notes for the show.

Created by hairstylist and backstage legend Guido Palau, the 'just stepped out of the shower, or in this case, the sea' look left water-logged rings on collars and dripped onto wetsuit-style tank tops.

Legendary model Doutzen Kroes sported a Steve Zissou-esque red knitted beanie atop her sopping wet lengths, whilst others donned black graduation mortarboards as if they’d been caught in the rain on the way to picking up their diploma in marine biology.

Elsewhere, models' décolletage and chests were seemingly greased up to give a high shine wet look as if fresh out of the ocean. Alternatively, they were the lucky recipient of a bucket of water just before hitting the runway. For commitment to realism alone, we're gunning for the latter.
