Despite looking effortless, the perfect high bun hairstyle is a hard knack to perfect.

Welcome, Armani Privé’s AW19 Couture show. Set in the glamorous Petit Palais, the dreamy show not only served up an enviable host of celebrities on the FROW, such as Nicole Kidman and Celine Dion, but also the reinvention of the humble top knot.

The ethereal collection featured pastel layered tulle and structured power-blazers but, for us, it was all about the hair.

Lengths of silk in three prints: black, white and polka dotted, were circled and pinned along the top of the hairline, to almost resemble a hand crafted flower on the top of a wedding cake.

Or, as we're calling it, the front scrunchie.

But the real party was at the back. Models' had their hair heavily gelled and sculpted into tight waves along the side, ending in a neatly scrunched low bun. No hair ties were in sight, instead the hair was heavily pinned to make the look as sleek and neat as possible. No need to wrestle with any knotty hair ties.

For those with shorter hair, the silk roses were secured onto a slim headband to create a similar effect. Slightly more achievable if you don’t have the time to sculpt your hair after the gym in the morning.

The makeshift top knots were styled with an array of accessories, featuring everything from a curtain of beads, to bold statement earrings. Intricate works of art if you ask us.

Over on make-up, models' skin was pared back, bringing the main focus to the eyes. Long, voluminous false lashes were applied, deliberately ignoring the usual step of trimming them to fit the models eyes. The trick? To make eyes appear elongated and cat-like.

Well, that's one way to cheat a winged liner.
