If you've always tried and failed to get volume out of your blow-dry, you might want totry this trick from James Pryce, super-stylist at the luxury Larry King salon in West London and the man behind the Middleton's hair (including the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding day 'do).

Known as 'the curl whisperer', he's the authority on bouncy locks, having come up with a new cutting technique that increases your natural wave, giving it much more curl and volume.

When it comes to drying your hair at home for lasting volume, Pryce suggests prepping with the Redken Curvaceous Full Swirl Cream Serum (which helps encourage light, bouncy curls) and then tipping your head upside down and diffusing the hair using a high heat, low speed setting.

While you may have dismissed the diffuser attachment for your hairdryer in your high school days, the technique has made a comeback of late thanks to the Dyson Supersonic. The premium hairdryer comes with a magnetic diffuser attachment which Pryce says is 'the best' out there, dispersing air evenly around your curls, helping to reduce frizz and improve definition.

'However,' he adds, 'if you're on a budget you can buy a universal one from any good beauty supplier or chemist for around £10.' Or, dig out your one from the 90s – but we doubt that's what the duchess would do.
