Undercuts - more than just a badass way to reinvent your go-to 'do, shaved undercuts can help to keep super thick hair under control and shape a shorter pixie crop. But yes, mainly, they look totally awesome.
'The best way to wear an undercut is really down to personal style,' says John Frieda Creative Director, Leigh Keates. 'But I’d say an undercut at the nap of the neck is the most versatile. You can hide it when your hair is done or share a glimpse of a more adventurous side when your hair is up. If someone chooses an undercut, they tend to be quite daring in their style choices so I’m sure they’ll still be able to wear the style with confidence, however they choose to wear it.'
On top of that, if you're blessed with a gloriously thick head of hair then undercuts have a practical application as well. 'It’s a great way of removing some of the bulk in very thick hair,' explains Keates. 'To keep an undercut looking clean, you will need to have it shaved regularly however, your daily routine could free up as it makes drying and styling far easier and quicker.'
