Rihanna wants to cover your summer 2018 body in glitter...and more glitter. After teasing two new Fenty Beauty shimmering body oils called Body Lava on Instagram last night, the beauty and fashion mogul took to her Stories again this morning to show off another new body product: meet Fenty Beauty Fairy Bomb. If you grew up in the '90s, you already know what this is.
Fairy Bomb is a fluffy powder puff filled with microscopic shimmering glitter particles. Pat it all over your body to set your Body Lava body oil and leave a dusting of sparkle. Rihanna shared a Boomerang of herself dabbing Fairy Bomb on her shoulders and chest with the caption 'puff puff pass' (of course she did). She then shared a photo of what the final result looks like: a veil of golden shimmer that is somehow both subtle and bold.
Benefit Cosmetics once made a cult-favorite product similar to Fairy Bomb years ago, but it was called Kitten Classic Powder Puff and it was overtly cute and feminine. Back in 2003, Urban Decay also got into the body powder game with a line of edible powders in flavors like Marshmallow and Red Hot.
Even Jessica Simpson, one of the first multi-hyphenate celebrities to break into the beauty business, had a slew of edible body powders in her cosmetics line Dessert. Like everything else from the '90s and early aughts, shimmering body powder was ripe for a comeback. And there's nobody more poised to make it cool again than Rihanna nad Fenty Beauty.
Fairy Bomb will also drop on April 6th in Sephora stores and online in the U.S. No word yet on whether it too is scented and edible, or if it only comes in one color. Price information is still TBD, so we'll update this post when we know more.
