Back in 1999, Francois Nars created a gold-flecked, peachy-pink blush and called it Orgasm. 'I actually first created the name, then the shade. I wanted something shocking,' he said in an interview. 'The pink colour and the subtle shimmer gives you a natural finish. I designed Orgasm Blush the same way I design all my colours—it just so happened that Nars fans fell in love.'

The provocatively named blush was heralded by make-up experts and celebrities during the '00s for its supposedly universally flattering and warm undertones. Throughout the years, Nars has created different iterations of Orgasm makeup products, first a multi-use cream stick called The Multiple and then an Orgasm Lip Gloss.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and Priyanka Chopra Jonas began name-dropping the shade in interviews and Meghan Markle reportedly wore the Orgasm Lip Balm in her royal wedding look. To celebrate 20 years of the cult hue, Nars has launched an Orgasm Oil Lip Tint, Orgasm Liquid Highlighter, and an Endless Orgasm Palette, available now.
