To own the Erdem x NARS 13-piece make-up collaboration is to be at peace with your make-up kit. The only thing that doesn't make sense is why it took Erdem Moralioglu - creator of some of the most evocatively beautiful and yes, mostly floral designs on the catwalk - so long to turn his hand to beauty.

We've had our hands on the secret new launch for around a month now, it has been nearly impossible to keep from sharing it with our friends and followers, because yes, it's that great. We even tested it out on a beautiful shoot that will be in the May issue of ELLE, so we're fully qualified to call out the heroes, in this order (in our humble opinion).

It's illuminating, creamy, precise and that special kind of pearly pinky/blue tone that makes you look lit up.

Yes. Lip POWDER. It's my new favourite thing, and an old photo-shoot tip to make lips super-velvety and extra pigmented. This is petal soft, funny that.

Lipstick in Wildflower

Looks black in the bullet, but goes on a sheer, buildable deep purple that looks dreamy on its own, but has colour-transforming super powers, too.

Lipstick in Moon Orchid

A sheer baby pink with grey undertones that makes your lips look like they're glowing.

Not your standard beauty palette, this is the dark and dangerous bit Erdem was talking about, but with a pollen-yellow accent and midnight navy blue. Ultimate eye combo.

And I haven't even mentioned blotting paper, the soft-touch, palest blue/grey, illustrated packaging yet. Or the carefully considered floral printed inserts. Or the... I could go on, but I have make-up to put on.

Erdem x NARS Strange Flowers Collection is available from 15th April at Selfridges and 1st May nationwide.
