What is it? Fresh Skin is the younger sister line to the long established and well loved Elemis brand. Elemis prides itself on a balance of natural ingredients powered by science and cutting-edge technology. The products really work, with Pro Collagen Marine Cream, £76.60, and Papaya Enzyme Peel, £28.60, being EBT favourites, but they don’t come cheap. Fresh Skin products contain natural ingredients (like rosehip seed oil and goji berry) that cleanse and hydrate, but don’t need the level of technology that anti-ageing products require, so the cost is perfectly suited to a teen to twenties budget.
The range: Fresh Skin is made up of eight products aimed at girls from teens to mid twenties. It includes two cleansers, two masks, a day moisturiser and a night version, an eye cream, lip balm and face wipes. It’s a concise range that suits a busy lifestyle.
What is it? The Daily Energizers range is aimed at older teens from eighteen to late twenties, essentially young women who are no longer on the ‘hormonal rollercoaster’ of teenage years, but don’t feel ready for a heavy anti-ageing regime.
The range: A concise range, with the aim of getting skin radiant and glowing, there are five products and three steps. The Daily Energizer Wake-up Booster, £15 is a liquid gel that you use in place of a traditional cleanser first thing, then there are three moisturisers (depending on your skin’s needs - a cream-gel, cream or lotion with spf 15, £19.50 each) and finally, a Cleansing Gel, £10.50, that removes make-up and dirt build-up. Key ingredients include Ginko Biloba to boost radiance and Vitamin C to energise the skin and green coffee to tone.

What is it? Elizabeth Hallett wanted to create a range of skincare for her daughter that wasn’t astringent (containing alcohol-based formulas that constrict the pores and rid the skin of excess oil) which many can be. Having had difficulties with her own skin Elizabeth wanted her daughter to have a good grounding in skincare from a young age. On average the products are 95% natural and are free from parabens, sulphates and petrochemicals.
The range: The products in the Elizabeth’s Daughter range mirror those that women use, so teens can start to understand how and why they use the products from the get-go. There are nine products including three cleansers (two face, one body), two moisturisers, an eye make-up remover, purifying mask, multi-purpose balm and a face spritz. There is also a handy starter kit, £20.

What is it? Masterminded by beauty journalist Alice Hart-Davis, who has used her knowledge from years of working in the beauty and media industry to create a teen range called Good Things. The range is free from parabens, sulphates, mineral oil and animal-tested ingredients and focuses on superfoods such as pomegranate, avocado oil and blueberry to feed the skin. ‘The sooner you can settle into a regular, gentle skincare regime, the more benefits you will reap when you’re older,’ says Alice.
The range: There are two lines within the range. Gentle Face Care which is made up of six products, a cleanser, polish, wipes, moisturiser, eye cream and night cream, while Anti-Blemish is a concise line of four products and contains a purifying cleanser, mask, moisturiser and spot clearing gel. Each product is under £10.

What is it? Face Boutique is a skincare range that includes natural ingredients (and synthetic ones only where it needs to). The website lists all the ingredients in each product and explains exactly why each is there, so it’s hugely informative. The packaging is beautifully designed too, with illustrations by artist Stina Persson.
The range: There are five skincare products – a foaming facial wash (to cleanse and soothe), an oil-free moisturising gel, blemish gel, lip remedy and cleansing wipes; the skincare is targeted at teens who want to prevent and clear up blemishes. The body range is concise with a body wash, bath soak, shampoo and conditioner. There is also a skincare and body kit which are both perfect for travel. Products start at £8 for the Moi Moi Lip Remedy and Sweep Clean Cleanser on a Cloth.

What is it? Little White Lies is the little sister to premium tanning range Make Believe, which are £30 for the fake tans and £20 for the gradual tanner. The higher price tag is down to Make Believe’s use of anti-ageing and cellulite-busting ingredients that teens just don’t need. The key skincare ingredient in the Little White Lies range is skin softening Argan Oil (which is the hottest ingredient for new product launches right now) and works to prevent dehydration caused by the DHA chemical that helps the fake tan develop.
The range: There is a tanning mousse, lotion and spray, as well as a wash-off, starting from £10. The tanning lotion and wash-off come in two shades – light and dark. Impressively the wash-off has to be vigorously scrubbed off so there is no fear of rain specks or drink stains spoiling the colour during a night out.
