Update 20/12/21:

There's no denying that our skin tends to get a bit lacklustre during the winter months, and it's in colder weather like this that a good skincare routine, with a focus on amping up the glow, can make all the difference to our complexion.

Luckily for us, Rihanna never misses and the same can be said for her latest launch, Fenty Skin's Pre Show Glow Instant Retexturizing 10% AHA Treatment.

Granted, it might sound like part of a GCSE chemistry equation, but we promise the result is worth getting tongue-tied over. Imagine you could bottle the radiance you get after a week spent in the sun with a never-ending conveyer belt of cocktails, that's Fenty Skin's Pre Show Glow.

Essentially, this exfoliator is something you'll want to keep in your beauty bag to reach for before a big night out. Containing 10% AHAs in the shape of glycolic, lactic and citric acid, this 1 minute treatment will work to slough off pesky dead skin cells to reveal a brighter and more even surface. By improving the texture of your skin, not only does your complexion look luminous sans make-up, but you can count on your foundation applying like a dream too.

Not one to do things by halves, Fenty Skin's Pre Show Glow comes with a reusable applicator to buff skin towards the best version of itself. After cleansing, wet the applicator and pour some of the exfoliating treatment on before lightly scrubbing your face in circular motions for between 30-60 seconds. If anything comes close to faking a post-facial glow, it's this, people.

Update 8/2/21:

If there's one part of our skincare routines we haven't been skipping for the past year it's our eye cream. Between a global pandemic and turning our living rooms into a wine bar, it's safe to say our sleep has suffered, and in turn, the dark circles and puffy bags under our eyes.

Which is where Rihanna's latest Fenty Skin launch comes in.

Like a literal dose of sleep for our skin, the Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream is all about perking up our peepers. The 2-in-1 formula promises to brighten, soothe and de-puff for a look that says 'I got my full eight hours'.

Formulated with hyaluronic acid, green tea and Persian silk tree, the non-greasy gel cream is the cooling moment our eyes need. And it gets better. Your new go-to eye cream comes with a mini face tool friend complete with metal roller for extra de-puffing. Simply apply the Flash Nap gel before using the mini roller from the inner corner outwards to help smooth and tighten.

Speaking on her latest skincare launch, Rihanna said, 'I wanted to create the perfect starter eye cream – with easy-to-use packaging, a formula that would tackle puffiness and dark circles, and work really well with make-up to look fresh all day. It had to feel lightweight, soothe the skin, and revitalise – and let me tell you, IT DOES.'

Update 20/10/20:

Rihanna caused mild uproar when she was spotted using her Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 as the finale in her nighttime skin routine, with fans crying out: 'you're sleeping with SPF on?!'. But those of you who are concerned, fear not, because Rihanna has solved the issue.

Fenty Skin has launched its first nighttime product, Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Gel-Cream, £36. SHOP NOW

The gel cream features the same ingredients we know and love from the original moisturiser; hyaluronic acid, niacinimide, Kalahari melon oil, in a new lightweight but hydrating formula, without any SPF.

The best bit? Rihanna has solved the possibly century long dilemma of getting your moisturiser stuck under your nails (see, she has the same problems as us).

Ladies with acrylic nails, Riri has answered your beauty prayers with a dinky spoon-like applicator so all that skincare goodness lands on your face, where it needs to be, and not under your newest extensions.

Now if only Rihanna could be in charge of solving our other life problems.

Update 31/7/20:

Debit cards at the ready people because Fenty Skin has officially launched. In true RiRi style, founder Rihanna celebrated her debut skincare drop with a virtual pre-launch party. Of course, the singer looked nothing less than epic in a brown leather slip dress, spaghetti strap heels and criss cross braids.

Officially arriving on the Fenty Skin website at midnight last night, the first three Fenty Skin products are worth snapping up ASAP. Shop all three below. Hello new skin routine.

Update 28/7/20:

Fenty Skin have finally spilled the tea on what the starting line up will be for the game-changing skincare brand.

In the theme of keeping things simple, Fenty Skin will be launching with a 3-step skincare routine which will include the staples you need to get Rihanna's glow:

  1. Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser - £20
  2. Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum - £25
  3. Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen - £35

The founder explained her goal behind the brand in a teaser video: 'I'm a woman of colour and I have a lot of sensitivity in a lot of areas on my face so, I get really picky with products and a lot of the time I get scared and cautious. I wanted to a product that just worked, more than anything'.

Rihanna isn't messing around with the ingredients either. The cleanser, designed to breakdown make-up, oil and dirt all without drying the skin, is oil-free and noncomedogenic, formulated to avoid blocking pores for those fellow congested skin guys and gals.

The range is also packed with Niacinamide (our favourite anti-inflammatory ingredient), Barbados Cherry to brighten and Green Tea, to fight against environmental aggressors - just to name a few.

Even better, Fenty Skin's eco credentials are solid. The moisturiser-SPF-hybrid is not only coral reef friendly (aka doesn't contain oxybenzone or octinoxate) and refillable to cut down on plastic wastage, but it's also got a slight pink tint to it, to avoid a white cast on darker skin tones and is designed to have zero flashback and avoid pilling under your foundation.

As the skincare brand said: 'Ya better wear sunscreen every damn day!' - we couldn't agree more and now we've got no excuse.

With the launch being just 3 sleeps away, we're setting our alarms now in preparation.

Update 22/7/20:

The queen of hype, if anyone can tease out a launch on Instagram it's Rihanna. After finally confirming our hopes earlier this month that her debut skincare line, Fenty Skin, is dropping on 31 July, Ri has gone full speed ahead with the launch campaign.

Her first act as ruler of our skincare routines? Revealing a seriously major Fenty Skin photo campaign starring a host of her A-list pals, including the singer's rumoured beau A$AP Rocky.

The sunkissed photoshoot shows everyone from model Jazzelle aka Ugly Worldwide to Lil Nas bathing themselves in sunshine (or maybe that's just Rihanna's natural glow) and reclining next to a lake. Fittingly, all of them are sporting perfect complexions, a result of using Fenty Skin products, no doubt.

Speaking on the launch of her gender neutral skincare brand, the entrepreneur said, 'I’ve been working on @fentyskin for over 2 years, perfecting formulas and creating packaging that is kind to our planet!! Formulas that work, and work well with makeup!!! Everything starts with the foundation that is your skin and we all know how obsessed I am with beautiful, healthy skin- so whether you want to wear makeup, or no makeup at all, there’s always glowing skin underneath.'

Touting itself as 'The new culture of skincare' and a brand 'for everyone', Fenty Skin might just be the refreshingly fluid beauty brand 2020 needed. Packaged up in understated lavender and the signature minimal Fenty font, here's hoping the quality we've come to know from Fenty Beauty has transcended to skincare as well.

Watch this space for specific product updates.

It's safe to say that when Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in late 2017, it did quite well.

Within it's first 40 days, the brand reportedly made $100 million in sales and more significantly than that, it created what has now been dubbed 'The Fenty Effect' with its 40 foundation shades giving the beauty industry a huge kick to produce more inclusive shade ranges.

But now Fenty is venturing into skincare.

Riri's been teasing us about 'Fenty Skin' for a while now (not quite as long as she's kept us hanging for an album but we're letting that one slide) but it looks like the wait is almost over.

Fenty Skin is officially launching on July 31st, with customers able to sign up to an early access waitlist which will let you buy the products a few days earlier, on July 29th.

To sign up to the waitlist click here.

Rumours of the sought after skincare line first started around March 2019, when a trademark was filed for Fenty Skin with the United States Trademark and Patent Office.

According to the registration, the line is targeted at 'medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators'. Which obviously got us excited.

We also got a bit of an idea of the products Fenty Skin will be launching with. The five product names mentioned in the trademark include the below:

  • Buff Ryder
  • Instant Reset
  • Fat Water
  • Flash Nap
  • Hydra Vizor

We don't know exactly what these will be but we're already prepared for Rihanna to take our money.

However, since the trademark application was approved we've been kept in the dark, with no mention of skincare products in sight but this changed pretty recently.

In a recent interview with British Vogue, the singer hinted at the skincare line yet again when she was asked about the launch said: 'Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide'.

But Riri isn't putting us out of our misery just yet keeping us on tenterhooks a little longer with an official Twitter account for Fenty Skin that was made public this week.

Although the account is verified, the Grammy winner isn't giving away the game just yet with no images attached to the profile and not a single tweet.

It looks like her skincare line is finally here but her ninth album, not quite. If it's anything like the other businesses Rihanna's got under her belt (we're looking at you Fenty Beauty, Savage X Fenty and her clothing line with LVMH, FENTY), it looks like it will be worth the wait.
