Judi Dench Gets Her First Tattoo Aged 81 As A Birthday Present

We didn't think it was possible to love actress Judi Dench any more.

After all, she was the first female M in the James Bond franchise, she has Leonardo DiCaprio on speed dial and MC Lethal Bizzle coined the catchphrase 'Dench' after her.

But, the Dame has stolen our hearts yet again as she's just got her first tattoo aged 81-years-old.

The Skyfall actress revealed to Surrey Life magazine that she was given the inking 'carpe diem' as a birthday present from her daughter Finty.

'That's my motto: Seize the day. Finty gave it to me for my 81st birthday – she's wonderful with surprises.

'Mind you the company of A Winter's Tale, which I was doing at the time, used to say that it said fish of the day.'

Dench previously admitted her longing for a tattoo as she got older but couldn't decide what to have inked.

'There's an Indian symbol that I like which supposedly represents life and love and everything.'

'One of the cameramen who worked on The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel told me what it meant, but I'm a bit nervous in case I'm being set up… It might be unbelievably rude!'

However, it's not the first time the actress has had her body 'inked'.

She admits that she once had produce Harvey Weinstein's name temporarily written on her bottom as a joke after her case her as Queen Victoria in the film Mrs Brown.

'He still thinks it's tattooed. My make-up lady painted it on. He didn't believe me so I showed him.'
