Continuing with the current trend of major fashion brands who are revamping nostalgic pieces, Opening Ceremony has joined forces with Burberry to update the brand's iconic check pattern. Following in the footsteps of Christopher Bailey, whose last collection as Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer was dedicated to LGBTQ+ youth, the collaboration's pieces are filled with rainbow overlay while staying true to Opening Ceremony's cool street style and effortless aesthetic.
The collection consists of rainbow tartan patterned hats, bags, and ready-to-wear. The shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants in the exclusive collection are enhanced with rainbow-coloured Burberry logos and tartan that cover the front.
Photographer Salvatore Caputo captured local kids in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, in order to promote the collection. Caputo photographed the kids, who were all members of the underground rave scene in Kiev, while they partied from 2 P.M. until the morning.
