Christopher Bailey is set to receive a CBE for his services to fashion in the Queen's New Year's Honour's list.

The former president and creative officer at Burberry worked for the British fashion house for 17 years before stepping down in March 2018.

Bailey first joined the company in 2009 at the age of 29 and over the course of his Burberry stint, transformed the brand into a global powerhouse.

The Royal College of Art alumnus took his final bow at London Fashion Week back in February with a collection dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community with model Cara Delevingne closing the show in a now-famous rainbow cape.

Riccardo Tisci - the former creative director of Givenchy - has since taken the helm at Burberry and has already reimagined the brand's aesthetic with a new logo and twist on the traditional house check.

Other famous faces to be recognised in this year's list include '60s model Twiggy, England football manager Gareth Southgate and author of The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood.
