Next time you're wondering who's creeping on your Insta-Stories, don't be altogether shocked to see a big name has fallen down a hashtag hole, and found your account.

That's how the surprise star of New York Fashion Week was discovered. Yep, on Instagram. Japanese costume designer Tomo Koizumi was found by super-stylist, and Marc Jacobs' long-time collaborator and friend, Katie Grand.

Koizumi, as a costume designer, dressed Lady Gaga in 2016, as well as Rina Sawayama and local celebs in Tokyo. But he's still relatively unknown, with only 12,500 followers on Instagram (okay, so it's more than most of us, but a few million less than the women that walked his show on Friday).

Thanks to Katie Grand though, it turns out if you've got friends in high places, you can bring high hemlines and host of VVVIPs to your BFF's store.

Last night Koizumi, and a few recognisable faces, took to Marc Jacobs' Madison Avenue shop for the Japanese designer's first show. And they brought Big Dress Energy with them (Pete who...?).

Among the stars that walked, in up to 200 metres of rainbow coloured tulle, were models Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Karen Elson and Joan Smalls, and actors Rowan Blanchard and Gwendoline Christie.

There was a superstar team behind the scenes too, with Pat McGrath and Guido Paulo (both behind the knockout hair and make-up at recent Valentino shows) working with Grand, who stepped in as stylist.

If we don't know much about Koizumi now, other than that he's not formally trained as a designer, and is into Balenciaga and Marie Antoinette from what we've caught on Instagram, that'll no doubt change.

Bella posted that 'waking up after an 18 hour work day isn't the cutest thing in the world' in an Insta-story yesterday.

Koizumi's XL candy coloured frocks though...

P.S. the shoes are Marc Jacobs.
