Emma Stone's Louis Vuitton gown, custom-made for the actress by Nicolas Ghesquière, stole the spotlight at the 2019 Oscars with fashion devotees taking to social media to praise the red-carpet look.
The striking gown - heavily embroidered with pearls, sequins and beads, and featuring striking exaggerated shoulders - took a grand total of 712 hours to make.
'The embroidery took 712 hours, plus 22 hours to adjust it after shrinkage,' the fashion house revealed to People magazine.
The structured design and power shoulders also proved tricky to complete, as a spokesperson for the brand added that the artwork was designed by two people over a five-day stint.
'It was quite difficult because the design was geometrical and we had to reduce and increase the element dimensions without changing their total number,' they revealed.
To finish the red-carpet ensemble, the 30-year-old wore her hair in a sleek low bun with jewels also by Louis Vuitton.
Although the designer of choice came as no surprise (Stone is the current face of the luxury brand), the dress proved to be an unexpected sartorial move. The actress also eschewed red carpet tradition in a look by the fashion house to attend the Oscars last year.
Yet despite winning big in the style stakes this year, Stone missed out on a prestigious gong.
The actress was nominated for Best Supporting Actress courtesy of her role in The Favourite but it was Regina King who took home the trophy.
