Most influencers provide a pretty good insight into their lives via their online presence, but even so, it can be difficult to imagine what their day-to-day actually looks like. For Pamela Reif, a German influencer who boasts 9.3 million followers on Instagram, creating fitness videos, alongside lifestyle and fashion content, the answer is: very busy.

There's a whole world of tech out there designed to help busy people stay healthy and organised. But wearing a health tracker doesn't always appeal, especially if fitness is just a small part of your otherwise varied life. After all, lots of health trackers and smart watches can be clunky and awkward, and don't exactly pair well with the floral midi dress you're wearing to brunch this weekend.

'As a fitness and lifestyle personality, looking good is really important to me and a lot of smartwatches are’t that stylish,' Pamela says. It has, she says, become a big part of her daily routine, so we asked her to break down exactly what that looks like, including how she balances work and play.

Morning

'My day starts with some meditation, then some light stretches before breakfast,' she reveals, explaining that she uses the heart-rate monitoring system on her smartwatch while meditating and always notices that meditation lowers her heart-rate, reassuring her that this time really benefits her body and stress levels.

Next comes breakfast. 'I’m super careful about what I eat and when,' she admits. Her meals change day to day, depending on her schedule, and she also times them to coordinate with her workouts, so she's properly fuelled – something she relies on her Huawei Watch GT 4 to guide her on. 'It’s really useful as a reminder of when to eat – some days I’m so busy, I sometimes forget.' A favourite feature? The Stay Fit Calorie Tracker, which she uses to balance her exercise activity with the right amounts of protein and calories. 'The visual display that balances calories burned with calories consumed is a super easy way to know you’re living with a healthy balance,' she says.

Afternoon

As you'd expect of a fitness influencer, Pamela spends a lot of time moving, both filming content and doing her own workouts. 'My weekly routine generally involves four days of exercise and three days of recovery,' she reveals.

As well as creating her own workouts (some of which will be available on the Huawei health app), she also draws inspiration from her Watch GT 4's varied range of programmed routines, as well as motivation from the Activity Rings feature. 'I think it’s really great that the device has guidance linked to the World Health Organisation’s recommended daily activity, so anyone can use them to improve their fitness,' she adds.

On top of working out, she also balances a busy work and social life, which is where she says the Watch GT 4 really comes into its own. No more does she find herself hiding her smartwatch, thanks to the new elegant design. 'My favourite is the two tone gold and silver metal strap,' she says. 'It’s classic, slim and sophisticated. The way the strap is detached from the watch case makes it seem really discreet and feminine, which I love.'

Evening

Even influencers need to switch off sometimes. And the Watch GT 4's recommendations for stress management and good sleep before bed are exactly what she uses to help her evening wind-down, opting for gentle exercise like stretching or yoga, before settling down for the night.

'Honestly, I knew already that I lived healthily, and had a good and balanced lifestyle. But having that actually confirmed by hard data has been amazing!' she says. 'Tracking performance, not just listening to my body, but being able to interrogate it, and have the answers at my fingertips, has been a real game changer.'
