Amanda Seyfried plays real-life porn star Linda Lovelace in 70s-set biopic Lovelace with flicks and flares to spare.

Seyfried glams down for an understated performance, letting Peter Sarsgaard steal the show as her manipulative husband Chuck.
We first meet Linda when she's a small town ingenue who catches Chuck's eye.

We know he's up to no good; she doesn't and soon she's being paraded in front of porn producers.

They sit up and take notice when they see her particular skill in action. Hit porno Deep Throat follows, along with fame and interest from the likes of Hugh Hefner (James Franco).
The first half of the film is fun and frothy but the mood takes a darker turn when the grislier details of her story emerge.

And so Lovelace moves from kitsch retro entertainment to campaigning critique much like Linda¹s public persona itself.
