Beyoncé might be the queen, but even she doesn't get everything she wants, not even on her wedding day.
Back in 2008, Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, took on the responsibility of designing her daughter's dress for her wedding to Jay Z. Tina had been designing dresses for Beyoncé for years, so if anyone was sure to create a slam dunk for Bey on her big day, it was Tina. Right?
Not so much, according to Tina. "She was so sweet to let me do that," Tina told Today on June 24. "She came back later one day and she said, 'You know, when my daughter gets married, I'm going to let her pick out her own dress.' Maybe she wasn't so excited about it at the time, but she's a sweetheart."
Oh well! No wedding is ever truly perfect anyway. If it's not the dress, it's the cake, or the flowers, or the weather, or that one mopey bridesmaid who just refuses to get with the program. Besides, if rumors of Beyoncé and Jay Z's pending vow renewal ceremony are to be believed, she'll have another shot at her dream gown very soon.
