After carving out a career in Hollywood, Benedict Cumberbatch is going back to treading the boards swapping Sherlock for Shakespeare.
The Star Trek star will be tackling one of the theatre world's most challenging roles, taking on the part of Hamlet at London's Barbican Theatre for a reported twelve week run from August 2015.
Needless to say, we're anticipating Cumberbatch's return to the stage eagerly. He hasn't done theatre since starring in the Danny Boyle-directed Frankenstein alongside Jonny Lee Miller at the National Theatre in 2011.
