Kate and Alexa help launch the W Hotel

Kate Moss was the star of the show, arriving with friend and hair stylist James Brown on her arm. She even took to the stage at one point to introduce W's new house band - made up of a clutch of rock 'n roll greats including Mick Jones and Roger Daltrey -although, this time at least, she didn't take the opportunity to sing herself.

London's other favourite style setter, Alexa Chung, was also in attendance, taking charge of the music behind the decks. And we also spotted a clutch of other familiar fashionable faces - Alice Dellal, PPQ's Amy Molyneaux, Bella Freud, Mulberry's Emma Hill and male model David Gandy.
