See the fairest at the SWATH premiere

Kristen Stewart may have spent in muddy breeches while Charlize Theron donned weapons-grade crowns, but last night, both stars celebrated their latest film in couture-level gowns.

Keeping with the dark, Gothic feel of the film, Stewart chose a sheer black lace Marchesa gown with white-lace insets that created the illusion of bare shoulders. For all the ethereal details, the ELLE cover star still didn’t float, she walked—a fact of gravity underlined when Stewart slipped out of trainers and into heels for her grand entrance into the Empire Cinema.

Theron, meanwhile, appeared in equally spectacular form in a black Christian Dior Couture gown with sheer skirt.

Although most of the attention went to Theron and Stewart, fellow actors Lily Cole and Liberty Ross also chose A-list designer gowns. Ross wore a blue sequinned gown by Tom Ford, and Cole opted for a black version of the Alexander McQueen gown that Pippa Middleton wore to the royal wedding.

Male leads Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin wore... suits.
