Burberry takes Paris

Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley celebrated the opening of Burberrys new Paris flagship store with a party at the British Embassy on Thursday night.

When Christopher Bailey invites you to a party, you don't say no. From the signature white carpet to the guarantee that there will be a special surprise (in this case, a live set from The Feeling), the Burberry designer never disappoints.

After getting the nod from the serious looking security outside the British Embassy on rue de Faubourg Saint-Honoré (where the British brand has opened an impressive new store), we were shown through to the garden, where Burberry had staged a beautifully modern gig venue, in contrast to the opulent heritage of the Embassy itself.

I stationed myself by Alexa Chung's DJ booth with the beautiful and impossibly nice Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (who also does a spot-on Aussie accent I discovered) until the crush of hot young things (Cara Delevigne in particular looked too good to be real) sent me in search of less envy-inducing company.

The Feeling impressed the chic French crowd, who were dressed variously in Isabel Marant prints, Chanel jackets and, of course, the fashion editor's favouritea Burberry Mac. See, we Brits do know how to party. Thanks Christopher!
