Kristen wears J. Mendel for the big premiere

The ELLE cover star chose the blue-sequinned gown with a dramatic thigh slit from J. Mendel’s spring 2012 collection, pairing it with Jimmy Choo peep-toe platform pumps and a Neil Lane cocktail ring. Staying true to form, Stewart slipped into trainers to sign autographs for fans once she finished posing.

Up to 1,000 fans of the vampire film series camped out for days ahead of the world premiere in hopes of spotting stars. Stewart was joined on the black carpet by co-stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed (in Marchesa) and Ashley Greene. The new DKNY spokeswoman looked ravishing in a custom-designed strapless red lace and chiffon gown from Donna Karan.

Hollywood fans Bruno Mars, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ashley Tisdale, Willow Smith and Carolina Herrera, who designed Bella’s wedding gown, also turned up for an early view of the film.

Speaking to reporters as she made her way into the Nokia Theatre, Stewart described the pressure of the wedding and honeymoon scenes.

‘You really do reconsider your sexy face,’ she told E! News. ‘You’re like, “Whoa, everyone’s really heavily awaiting this.”’

When filming time rolled around, Stewart was fine. ‘Didn't really think about it, to be honest,’ she said. ‘The last way you want to remember something you've been building to for years is just actor-y, weird choices and neurotic weirdness. I remember things for the genuine experience, and that's rare.
