A sweet and scary Halloween...

Trick or treat? That depends on your taste threshold. Celebrities celebrated Halloween in extravagant fashion over the weekend, dressing up and stripping down for fancy dress parties.

Gwen Stefani underwent a Disney makeover to take a turn as Cinderella at Kate Hudsons Brentwood bash. She was joined by Nicole Richie, whose pink Juicy-style tracksuit may have read Nicole Richie circa 2001, but whose hoop earrings, shades, studded boots and swagger confirm that actually, shes dressed as J-Lo.

Elsewhere, Kim Kardashian channelled Uma Thurman by slipping into Poison Ivys corset. Heidi Klum, an avowed Halloween enthusiast, wore a full-coverage bodysuit printed with anatomically correct musculature. She was wheeled into her party on a gurney, as if she was mid-autopsy (gross! but creative).

The oh-no-they-didnt award of the weekend would have to go to Jennifer Love Hewitt and her boyfriend, who dressed as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt... complete with a half dozen or so children (dolls) taped to pant legs, stuffed into pockets and hanging out of Louis Vuitton handbag. Which begs the question: where did they stash the candy?
