9 Celebrities Who Have Spoken Out About Designers Refusing To Dress Them
Ashley Graham is not alone...
Despite being one of the world's most successful supermodels, that designers should be falling over themselves to dress, Ashley Graham recently admitted that she had to skip last year's Met Ball partly because she was on the 'hold' list (who knew that was a thing), but also because she couldn't find anyone to dress her at such short notice.
Speaking to New York Magazine, the body activist, model and all round absolute babe said, 'I couldn't get a designer to dress me...You can't just show up in jeans and a T-shirt', but did also insist 'that was just because she didn't have the right designer relationships and there hadn't been enough time to get a custom gown'.
However, rumours have been flying that the real reason Graham was unable to get a dress so last minute was because she doesn't fit the fashion industry standard sample size aka a pretty unrealistic UK size 6.
But thankfully, that's all changing now as Graham's profile continues to rise and the mainstream fashion industry is gradually catering for bigger (read: realistic) sizes.
But it's still important that size discrimination within the industry is still spoken about publicly so that attitudes can change even faster.
Here are nine stars who've shared the battles they've had with the industry, just to wear a beautiful gown on the red carpet...
