New direction for Pringle

Recently appointed Pringle Design Director Alistair Carr isnt shying away from sharing his new vision for the knitwear-heavy fashion house.

In an interview with WWD, Carr scoffed at fusty grandma knits, saying hell respect the houses heritage whilst looking to the future.

I wont be doing rustic, woolly grandma knits, but very beautiful clothes that women want to wear, he said. Ill be bringing back color, and playing with the argyle and the twinsetbut not in the obvious ways.

Carr said he plans to offer more eveningwear options and menswear-inspired trouser fits. Hes also ready to take the brand into shoes and handbags once he solidifies his ready-to-wear collections.

Considering Carrs record at Balenciaga, Marni and Chloeall accessory-strong housesour curiosity is piqued. Or even Pringled.
