Temperley & Hamnett honoured by Queen

Lily Allen was hopeful - she tweeted on New Year's Eve "would they have called me by now if I'd made it on to the Honours list?" - but in the end it was left to her Notting Hill neighbour Alice Temperley to scoop an MBE from the Queen.
Other figures from the fashion world included designer and fair trade campaigner Katherine Hamnett and Raymond Kelvin, founder of Ted Baker. Both received CBEs with Hamnett commenting, "I tend to pooh-pooh these kind of things but at the same time it's frightening how nice it is. It's seductive. And my friends have been adorable about it. I'm respectable at last." Further indication that 2011 is set to be a pro-Royalist year for all.
Shoe designer Beatrix Ong was awarded an MBE, while Wendy Dagworthy, the head of the Royal College of Art's fashion programme and Mark and Mo Constantine, founders of Lush Cosmetics, each received OBEs for services to the industry.
