John Galliano on his show-ending costumes

The designer, who has dressed as a sailor, beekeeper, film noir detective, astronaut and equestrian for recent show finales, spoke with the Wall Street Journal to mark the opening of Christian Dior’s revamped Manhattan boutique and described his wardrobe choices.

“People always ask me about the clothes I wear on the runway,” he told the paper. “The attention should be on the collection—not my finale! I get so immersed in the world that I am creating that—like a method actor—I tune with the muse, the story and the collection so much so that I evolve into an homage to the world I have created.”
