Samantha Cameron steps down at Smythson

We take it all back. On Tuesday we told you that, even though her husband had become the new Prime Minister, Samantha Cameron would continue her job at luxe label Smythson. But yesterday she announced that she will be stepping down from her role as creative director to concentrate on her family.

In a statement she said 'This is a personal decision made when I discovered I was pregnant and one that I have been considering for some time during what has been an understandably difficult year.' And those of you who are panicking about what might happened to the fashion crowd's favourite brand without her watchful eye, there's no need to worry - she won't be leaving the brand completely. Instead she will work for two days a week as Smythson's creative consultant.
