Hardy Amies to open its archives

This year would have marked the 100th birthday of designer Sir Hardy Amies, who died in 2003 at the age of 93. In honour of the occasion the U.K.s most famous fashion house is set to open its archives to the public for the first time with an exhibition entitled 'Sir Hardy Amies: A Century of Couture'.

On show at No 14 Saville Row, the home of the Hardy Amies label since it's creation in 1946, will be some of his most famous pieces, including those designed for the Queen. Visitors will also be able to view his costume sketches for '2001: A Space Odyssey', his personal effects and letters from the likes of Cecil Beaton and Norman Hartnell.

The exhibition will open in November at No. 14 Saville Row and will be free to visit.
