He didn't even realise the fashion coup he had scored until he tuned in to watch Barak Obama's inaugural ball with the rest of the world. But just three short years after starting his eponymous label Jason Wu's rising star has gone stellar, thanks to Michelle Obama, who wore his dress to take her first dance as America's first lady.

Now the designer, who's show has become one of the hottest tickets of New York fashion week is soon to be found at net-a-porter.com too. So we can finally bag one of of his candy coloured confections on this side of the pond too.
