Peter Som cancels February 09 show at New York Fashion Week

Som quit his position at Bill Blass late last year after differences with the managgement company who owned Blass, and to concerntrate on his own eponymous label.The iconic American house subsequently closed due to the troubled economic climate.

Now it seems Som has run in to economic struggles of his own, hence his retreat from the fashion week schedule. And while he will continue to design his own collection, it will be a reduced one.

'We are exploring every option, whether it be a showroom presentation, a look book or private sales and press appointments. We plan to find a solution that meets the needs of our retailers and the press, that is also cost-effective', said Elana Posner who coowns Peter Som Inc.
