News just in: Facchinetti to leave Valentino

Just two hours after the Valentino catwalk show in Paris Women's Wear Daily is reporting that the label's Creative Director, Alessandra Facchinetti, will be leaving the company.

The Italian designer who left Gucci in 2007 has been dogged by rumours that she does not see eye to eye with Valentino's CEO and managing board on design direction or the cost of producing her collections.

It is reported, but not confirmed, that Facchinetti (pictured) will be succeeded by Valentino's accessories designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, just as she was succeeded by accessories chief Frida Gianinni at Gucci.

Backstage just a few hours ago Valentino's CEO Stefano Sassi said that there will be confirmation of the situation shortly.
