LFW Day Five: Westwood, Luella and Jenny Packham return to London
To rapturous applause, from every editor worth her oversize clutch, and a front row that included Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr and Kelly Osbourne, Westwood made a lap of the circular catwalk she had created to show her Red Label for the first time ever as a runway show.
She created the line in 1994 inspired by French Couture and Saville Row tailoring - and these were at the heart of yesterday's collection, punctuated with Westwood trademarks - tartan, ruched necklines, sexy suiting and a little bit of punk - expertly modelled by Daisy Lowe and Jamie Winstone (pictured).
Kate Moss did not open the show - as was rumoured - instead it started with a protest march by a scantily clad model holding a banner demanding human rights for Guantanamo inmates - a cause close to Vivienne and Gooding Jr's hearts.
Who says fashion isn't serious?
