Diary of an ELLE intern, plus apply for the job

As the closing date for ELLE’s search for a new beauty intern approaches, we ask ELLEuk.com’s fashion intern Sarah Bonser how she’s found the first eight months of her placement.

It might tick all the cliché boxes, but working for the world’s best-selling fashion magazine is a dream come true for most. I hit the ground running in February, mid-way through London Fashion Week, after winning the coveted fashion internship competition. Since then I've covered everything from the latest trends to the hottest parties, rubbed shoulders with the likes of Kristen Stewart and interviewed ELLE coverstar Lily Allen, to name but a few.

Contrary to popular intern belief, placements aren’t all a matter of playing post lady and answering a phone that rings off the hook – especially at ELLE. Yes, there are plenty of mountains of designer clothes to plough through in the fashion cupboard, and of course, crucial coffee runs. But then there are experiences like sitting on the edge of your seat, watching Acne come down the catwalk, chasing Kanye West down the street to get a quote on his new collection and sipping tea with Aussie model Jessica Hart.
