It was the joy of spring from Ralph Lauren's collection: basking in the glow of candy-coloured pastels and pretty florals decorated silk georgette and crepe de chine blouses, culottes and midi-length skirts. Fresh and uplifting, the easy shapes were effortlessly stylish as has always been the Lauren trademark.

Feminine colours were given a dose of masculinity with menswear-inspired wide-leg trousers, a stream of white and pinstripe suits followed three-piece tailoring, and dress shirt detailing was worked on to a floor-length halter.
The show ended with a vision of angelic slinky gowns, satin and beaded, in diluted shades of ivory, silver and blush.
